Aperçu de Time Sink

If I didn't already have Time Track Pro, I'd have happily paid for this. However the feature set isn't quite as good. Time Sink doesn't track my time spent on specific websites or documents. I'm afraid this app is poorly optimised for my system (dual-core MBP with 10.6). It uses a near constant 5-10% CPU in the background. That has to be bad for my battery life. In just over 5 hours of running time, it racked up 13 minutes of CPU time, compared to 80 seconds for TTP. On the plus, this app is being actively developed and updated, which is more than can be said for TTP.

The licensing system is a major catastrophe. I clicked on the link provided and got a page with a long license code that I could do nothing with, because there is no place in the app to copy-paste it. After spending an entire hour trying to find a way (including consulting the developer's website and looking for discussions on the web), I wrote to the developer but never got a response. I bought it as part of a MacPromo offer on Nov 29 and still am unable to use it as a licensed user. The app itself seems very useful and it was for this app that I purchased the bundle, but if I had known about the licensing problem, I would certainly have avoided having anything to do with this app. Whatever its benefits, they are not worth an hour of exasperation.
